Flame Armor Ogre

Evaluation

Ogres in general are deceptively valuable, if largely situationally useful, monsters to keep stored away. Everyone should have at least one of each type, eventually.

At their lowest levels, their Resolve Leader skills are valuable for new players to conquer the Wednesday Dungeon and the Friday Dungeon. When Ultimate Evolved, they even more useful for this purpose, and also feature valuable Active Skills for advanced conditional dungeons such as Tower of Windy Woods. Finally, they have easily-leveled Skill Boost Awoken Skills which can help them get their Active abilities up even sooner.

Very advanced players have been known to put five max-skill, fully-awoken double ogres onto a team for rapidly farming Super King dungeons such as Super Ruby Dragons Descended. At max skill, five fully-awoken double ogres will have skills such as Flame Strike up before the first round!

For New Players

Getting some low-level ogres should be one of your primary goals as a new player. No worries here; they are extremely common "trash" enemies throughout the game. Leave them low level; ironically enough, the lower their HP the better. As noted above, they are your key to victory for some of the more challenging dungeons you'll need for valuable Evo materials.

Ogres can easily be Awoken once second-tier ogres such as No Ice Ogre start dropping around Tower of Flare. Ultimate Evolved ogres are superior to the normal ones when farming Masks and Sprites; their Active skill is sufficient to kill certain Masks (though not Dub-Sprites), and their dual elements help bring down enemies even faster. They can even be used to farm Super Kings!
