Monsters skills/ability icons

Almost all monsters have skills/abilities. Some share these abilities with others. This is where you put the Monster Book images. Some monsters also belong to certain groups called 'series'. Ex: Karin, Leilan, Meimei, Haku and Sakura belong to the 'Chinese Celestials'. Series are like archetypes in Yu-Gi-Oh or divisions in sports. The monsters usually share something in common. Ex. Cloud, Sephiroth & Squall are part of the Final Fantasy 1 series due to being characters from the games. Zeus, Hera and Athena are part of the Greek Gods series' due to being from Greek mythology. Almost all monsters are part of a series. This can be figured out in-game by going to the Monster Book & setting the organizer to 'Group'. Even unencountered monsters will be in said group but you won't be able to see their stats unless you've encountered their base/evolved form.

How to add (PC): Go to the ¶ tab & click on Heading. Type 'Monsters with same skills'. Hit 'Enter' to add the imags under the Heading. Click on the small square next to the 'Insert' tab and add all the Monster Book images. Repeat for 'Monsters in same series'

How to add (Mobile): Tap on ¶ tab & tap 'Heading 1'. Type 'Monsters with same skills'. Hit the enter key. Add the image. Tap the space around the image then add the next one. Repeat for 'Monsters in same series'

Making articles with the Source Editor

Source Editing can be done on both mobile & PC but requires knowledge of the proper file names. This can be typed in or copy pasted onto a page. Enter the source editor on this page, highlight the table you need, copy & paste said table onto the Monsters' page

Image Guide

For a wiki such as this one, images help new/returning players understand what Awoken skills a monster has, their typing, Attributes and even a basic idea of what each skill does.

As of 5/7/2024, there are 129 total awakenings in the game. On this wiki they're listed as either 'AwokenSkill(Number here)' or as 'Awoken Enhanced Heal Orbs'. They are also linked to an article that explains said Awoken Skills' effect. All Awoken Skill articles are named according to their in-game names. You might want to write this down somewhere so you'll have an easy reference point.

Series Pages

Series Pages are the pages used to describe an entire group of monsters. (Think like types in Pokemon.) Just about all monsters belong to a series. The layout goes as follows:

(Banner image)

Overview - A basic description of the series.

Monsters in Series - Monster Book images/MBis of the monsters on the roster complete with links to their pages.

Available Dungeons - A list of all the dungeons associated with the series complete with links to said dungeons. Depending on the series, they may be limited time dungeons.

Obtainable Accessories - A list of things like Orb Skins, Custom Music, etc... that can be obtained via getting certain monsters in the series.

Availability - A list of the dates for the limited time series'. Ex. 1/23/20XX - 2/4/20XX

Monster Guide page

The Monster Guide pages enable players to learn how to use a monster as well as any interesting trivia. These pages also contain tips for new players like if they should keep them or try to get them. (Such as references, historical/real life basis, etc etc.) All monsters have the same Guide setup.

Template of the Guide page:

000i Data Evo Tree Compare Stats Guide 000i

Evaluation

(An analysis of the monster along with an explanation on what it's Skill/Leader skill does & how it's Awoken Skills make it powerful.)

How to Use/For New Players

(An explanation on how to use the monster. May contain a sample team. "For New Players" should only be used on the monsters' base form. "How to Use" is for evos only.)

FAQs

Q: How do I link an image to another page on Mobile?

A: Type this in the Source Editor: [[File:(image name here).png|link=(article name)]] This can currently only be done on the Source Editor on Mobile.

Q: How do I calculate weighted stats?

A: Figure out what the max LVL of a monster is (EX: 50, 99, 110, 120..) Divide the HP by 10, divide the ATK by 5 & divide the RCV by 3. For the final weighted stats, add the amounts together.

Q: Why are there so few monsters listed in the book?

A: Unfortunately, this wiki wasn't updated for years & was eventually abandoned. Perhaps with your help, we can improve it.

Q: Do I have to use only one editor (Like do I have to only use the source editor)?

A: No, use either editor or both. Whatever works for you.

Q: How do we get monster images?

A: Take screenshots from the game itself or look on Puzzles and Dragons NA's website for some of them.

Q: I might have some monster images, what do I & how do I upload them?

A: First make sure the Monster images are cropped so the monster is front and center. (Meaning no visible Awoken Skills, Types, Form Change tab, card amounts) There's no set size dimensions for these due to some monsters having a more elaborate appearance than others. Then upload it as "MonsterNumberi.png" EX: 333i.png. For Monster Book Images/MBi, crop the image so it is 164x164 Pixels. Erase the edges until you have a rounded square shape. Make sure the background within the MBi is plain grey. Upload it as "MonsterNumberMBi.png" EX: 2073MBi.png
